How to free up space on the Samsung Galaxy A05s
Short answer
To free up space on the Galaxy A05s, open Settings > Battery and device care > Storage to see what is using it, clear duplicates with Device care: Storage, then empty Gallery's Recycle bin. A default 12.5 MP photo is about 3.8 MB, so 5,000 photos take roughly 19 GB of the 64 GB base model.

The Galaxy A05s launched in October 2023 with Android 13 and One UI 5.1. On that software the storage screen is Settings > Battery and device care > Storage.
Other One UI versions use a different path; the Samsung guide lists them.
Where do deleted photos go on the Galaxy A05s?

How much space do Galaxy A05s photos take?
Galaxy A05s: 50 MP main sensor, 12.5 MP by default, plus 2 MP macro, 2 MP depth. 1,000 default Galaxy A05s shots take about 3.8 GB.
| File | Typical size | Fits in 10 GB |
|---|---|---|
| Default photo (12.5 MP) | about 3.8 MB | about 2,632 |
| Full-resolution mode (50 MP) | about 12 MB | about 833 |
| One minute of video at 1080p 60fps | about 130 MB | about 77 minutes |
Switching the Galaxy A05s to its 50 MP mode makes each shot about 12 MB, roughly 3 times a default photo, so 200 of them use 2.4 GB. Recording at 1080p 60fps, the Galaxy A05s writes about 130 MB a minute, so a ten-minute clip takes 1.3 GB, the same as 342 default photos. Selfies from the 13 MP front camera are about 3.9 MB each.
How much of each Galaxy A05s storage option does a big gallery use?

|---|---|---|

| 128 GB | 19 GB (15%) | 3.9 GB (3%) |
On the 64 GB Galaxy A05s, every 10 GB you free holds about 2,632 more default photos, and a gallery of 20,000 photos would fill 119% of it. On the 128 GB Galaxy A05s, every 10 GB you free holds about 2,632 more default photos, and a gallery of 20,000 photos would fill 59% of it.
