Privacy and safety

Short answer

GalleryJury sends shrunk copies (512–1024px) to our AI provider for analysis, and our servers delete them right after. Full-size originals, the scores and every keep-or-remove decision stay on your phone. Our servers keep no photos and no per-photo scores. IDs and documents are protected, and deleted photos go to Android's trash first.

What will your servers keep?

  • Your consent record (which notice you agreed to, and when).
  • A hashed device ID, so the free trial is given once per phone.
  • Your credits ledger and purchase records.
  • Usage and cost totals, such as how many photos were checked. No image content.

That's all. No photos, thumbnails or per-photo scores. The app will have its own privacy policy before launch. This website itself collects no personal data: see website privacy.

Who analyses my photos?

TypeSafe AI (the Jev model), reached through OpenRouter, in the US, analyses the shrunk photo copies. Vercel hosts the website and API. Supabase holds our database (no photos or scores). Upstash handles rate limiting. Dodo Payments (merchant of record) handles web checkout, and Google Play handles purchases inside the app.

We make no claims here about how long the AI providers keep data or whether they use it for training. We will update this page when we have their written confirmation.

How does the app avoid deleting the wrong photo?

  • Always kept: IDs and documents, Android favourites, photos in protected albums (albums you made are protected automatically), and photos from the last 48 hours.
  • Unsure means keep: if the AI isn't confident, or a check fails, the photo stays.
  • Blurry and Poor shots off by default: a blurry photo may be the only one of a moment.
  • Review before delete: every category can be opened and changed.
  • System confirmation: Android asks you to confirm the batch.
  • Trash first: deleted photos go to Android's trash first.

Does it use Google Photos?

No. GalleryJury works only on the photos stored on your phone and asks for no Google Photos access. If Google Photos backed a photo up, the cloud copy stays in your Google account.

How does this compare with on-device cleaners?

Several cleaners, such as Files by Google and some iPhone apps, process everything on the device. That is the strictest privacy model. We chose server-side analysis of shrunk copies because it lets a larger model compare similar shots and read screenshots. We think that's a fair trade, and we want you to know it is a trade.

Frequently asked questions

Can your staff see my photos?

No. Copies are processed automatically, in memory, and deleted from our servers right after. They are not logged and no one at GalleryJury reviews them.
