Question

How do I cancel iCloud+ without an iPhone or Apple device?

Short answer

Use a browser. Apple's page for people without an Apple device sends you to reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in, choose I'd like to, then Request a refund, pick a reason such as cancelling, select the iCloud+ charge and submit. On Windows, iCloud for Windows can downgrade too. Save your photos before the plan lapses.

What are the steps from an Android phone or a browser?

  1. Open reportaproblem.apple.com in Chrome or any browser and sign in with the Apple Account that pays.
  2. Tap I'd like to, then Request a refund.
  3. Pick the reason that fits cancelling, then Next.
  4. Select the latest iCloud+ charge, or the iCloud subscription at the top of the list, and Submit.

Apple says decisions on these requests can take 24 to 48 hours. Its general subscriptions page also lists account.apple.com as the place to manage subscriptions from Android or the web, so try there if the first route doesn't show iCloud+.

Can I do it on a Windows PC instead?

Yes. In iCloud for Windows, click Manage, then Change Storage Plan, then Downgrade Options. Enter your password and choose the free 5 GB plan to cancel, or a smaller paid tier.

Whichever route you use, Apple sends a confirmation email. Keep it. If a charge appears next month, that email is your proof when you ask for a refund. The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, so you are not losing anything by cancelling early.

If you don't remember your password, reset it at iforgot.apple.com first. Apple may send a code to a trusted phone number, which still works after you switch to Android as long as you keep the same number.

What should a switcher save before cancelling?

If you moved to Android, iCloud may still hold the only full-size copy of years of photos. Download them at icloud.com/photos on a computer, or request a copy through Apple's Data and Privacy site. Then decide where they live next.

Before importing that archive into Google Photos, it is worth clearing the burst extras and repeats so they don't eat your 15 GB. On the phone itself, GalleryJury (coming soon to Google Play for Android) will keep the best of each burst and list copies and junk screenshots for you to approve; you try it on 50 photos free, then pay $5 once for 5,000. The stop-paying guide covers the iCloud side, and Google One storage the Android side.

Frequently asked questions

Will Apple refund the month I already paid?

Not always. The plan normally runs to the end of the period. In regions where the law requires it, Apple offers a partial refund if you ask within 14 days of a plan change.

I can't remember which Apple Account pays. How do I find it?

Search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple". The receipt shows the account used.

Can I cancel through my bank instead?

Blocking the card stops payment but not the subscription, and Apple may suspend the account for the unpaid charge. Cancel with Apple first, then talk to your bank only if a charge was not authorised.
