How-to guide

How to remove good-morning images from your phone in one go

Short answer

Start in WhatsApp: Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage > Forwarded many times, select all and delete. Then open Files by Google > Clean > Delete memes, which catches many greeting images. Greetings that were not forwarded widely slip past both, so an AI cleaner that recognises greeting images by content finishes the job.

How to delete good-morning images

  1. Delete widely forwarded images in WhatsApp. Settings > Storage and data > Manage storage > Forwarded many times, then Select all and delete.
  2. Run Files by Google's Delete memes card. Open Files by Google > Clean. If the Delete memes card appears, tap Select files, review and move to Trash.
  3. Search your gallery. In Google Photos, search for words like good morning, flowers, quotes or a holiday name. Google Photos can find text in images. Select and delete the results you don't want.
  4. Turn off auto-download in busy groups. In each large family group, set Media visibility to No and keep auto-download off, so new greetings don't land in your gallery.

Why do so many greeting images end up on my phone?

WhatsApp downloads photos automatically by default, so every good-morning card, birthday graphic and holiday greeting posted in a family or community group is saved to your phone. One busy group can add hundreds of images a month, and each one also gets backed up to Google Photos if WhatsApp Images backup is on, so they eat cloud storage too.

How do I delete greetings without losing real photos?

The risk with bulk-selecting a WhatsApp Images folder is losing the photo of a newborn niece sitting between 200 flower greetings. Sort by content, not by folder.

GalleryJury classifies each image: greetings, quotes and memes go to the clean list; photos of people and places stay; documents are protected. You review the list and tap once.
