Comparison · GalleryJury vs Google Photos Free up space
GalleryJury vs Google Photos "Free up space": what is the difference?
Short answer
Google Photos' Free up space removes the phone copy of every photo already backed up, so your phone gets space back but the cloud keeps everything, junk included. It never deletes anything from Google storage. GalleryJury, coming soon to Android, removes the junk itself from your phone: burst extras, copies, forwards and old screenshots. It doesn't connect to Google Photos, so if a photo was already backed up, the cloud copy stays in your Google account.

What does Free up space really do?
It deletes the device copies of photos and videos that are backed up. Items newer than about 30 days may stay. Your photos remain in Google Photos and on photos.google.com.
