GalleryJury vs Files by Google: which cleans your gallery better?
Short answer
Files by Google is free, on-device and made by Google. Its Clean tab finds exact duplicate files, memes, blurry or dark photos, screenshots, junk and backed-up photos. It doesn't choose the best of similar shots, tell junk screenshots from IDs, or catch most good-morning images. GalleryJury, coming soon to Android, is built for those jobs, with no subscription.

What does Files by Google clean?
- Duplicate files: exact copies, with the original labelled.
- Delete memes: meme-like images, shown when it finds enough.
- Delete suggested pictures: blurry, too dark, too bright or low-resolution photos (at least five needed for the card).
- Screenshots, large files, junk files, unused apps.
- Backed-up photos: removes device copies already in Google Photos.

Frequently asked questions
Is Files by Google safe?
Yes. It is made by Google, works on the device and moves deleted files to Trash first.
Why doesn't my Files by Google show the memes card?
Cards appear only when the app finds enough matching items, and some cards may not be available on every device or region.
